I was thinking about this question that my friend, Tommy, asked when we were going home.
He asked if we christian are against gays. This is a sensitive issue. What i said was, it depends on individual rather than as a whole.
What I told him is that what makes you think that other religion are not against or rather what makes you think that there aren't gays in Christianity?
This 377A issue is very sensitive.
My purpose here is not to talk about this penal code issue.
But rather on how things work in this world.
Take for example, our own country, Singapore. Our society is a democratic society. Yet, not everything can be talk about. In a democratic society, anyone can have the freedom of speech. Yet on the other hand, ya right...as if can say anything you like. Watch what you say man! You may get jailed!
Do you guys see it in our society or even others. Though whatever is said can be true and factual.
It's like when you tell people communism is good because everybody will be equal. But at the end of the day people will tell you...you are crazy.
But for the people in communist countries will think that we are crazy.
Therefore, there is no wrong or right issue here. It is just how people prefer it to be.
Things may work differently, but as long as it caters to the needs of everybody, things will be fine.
It's like if the people in a communist country wanna get a pay raise, they can get a pay raise if they submit a referendum or watsoever, because everything is equal in their country.
Therefore, it has nothing got to do with how it is govern...etc
So likewise, the 377A issue is also the same. It all depends on how people thing.
If it's ok for you to have it without then so be it. If it's not ok for you, then so be it. Because each and everyone have their own views and comment. No one can say you are right or wrong.
Even in religion, you cant say whether it is wrong or right. For if you believe faithfully in the god you believe, then whatever you do will be right as long as it is nothing evil and that you follow the path that your God have pave for you and your people.
So i hope those who reads my blog post on this issue will go and think about it.
Probably it's time not to be too judgemental about everything but rather be more broad-minded about such issues.
