Taught at CHIJ St Nicholas...Their School freaking Big...Their band room is not like band room...It's a seminar room...Freaking big...Can have lots of school band combine inside.
The percussion section has 9 percussionist. ALL GIRLS! ^___^
The SL, Pamela then the assitant SL Rachel...The members were so shock on how i know their names.
Sebastian:" Rachel, you are the assistant right."
Rachel:"WHAT! A sister?"
Sebastian & students:" Er...Er...lol..."
The SL & ASL not bad lei...Pretty! Got Standard!
OF course i have ways to check lar...How can teach without at least knowing some people...Right.
Taught them basics...They learn so much faster than OP.
When I was teaching the whole section, We kept laughing...Everything i say sound so wrong but it is the correct word to use...
Sticks must be held in a V shape...When they heard V they were like giggling...giggle...
Then I say close the whole in the gap...Then they laugh even louder...WTH rite...But they are a bunch of fun people to teach...
I know it sounded wrong but it is this way...
They keep asking and asking how to do this and that...I am like answering non-stop lar.
I taught NO mallets coz the conductor wanna take them SO after i took the section for 45 mins warm up, SERIOUS warm-up+ NO COMPLAINS
I teach 2 girls...the rest go in have band practice.
Taught the snare girl to make sure her flams and drags are correct.
Then taught the timpani girl how to roll...
Not only they wanna know how to play well but they want to know the method to playing well...
SO i told them how to warm up to achieve certain techniques...
When i use 4 mallet, just holding only they were like OMG OMG! Look Look!
Then when i roll...they were like...OH gosh...how you do that...
Guess what..Their SYF piece is the same piece they use for their NBC...

So basically teaching them was so relax...Just touch on some techniques will do.
Their 4 mallets not bad...They use Traditional grip coz no proper techniques but at least they can play well...Though not much techniques...
So coming Tuesday, Probably i will teach them Steven's Grip...the one I always use...
Besides asking me about snare and Timp which was told to teach them by their conductor, they ask even more stuff like how to produce a good sound on B.D...etc...
So I taught them what to do...what warm ups to do...
There are more techniques to learn...but one by one...

There are all sorts of people in the school...You name it, they have it...
And their school prefectorial board is like WOW...
Tonnes of Prefects with JOBS assigned...
like Prefect A: Prefect of class A, Co-ordinator of sports facilitation.
Prefect B: Prefect of Class D, Head in charge of band, Band Major...
prefect...etc etc...
One prefect handles so many things...
They are really CAN MAKE IT!
BEST PART! The band room is at lvl one shared with their CO.
So they always have their band prac at lvl 4...so basically the whole perc carry the whole instrument up on their own...don even need the band's help...and within 30 mins everything done...and I start teaching on the dot...1530-1730...
They have so many players...The band so big...
I heard their merry widow...Lagi Best...
They sound Great...But their conductor fierce...
They rather practice outside then go in to have band practice...
And the percussionist that were the remainders practicing with me outside really do their practice...Never talk...But only ask when unsure...
So discipline...Though they do talk abit when I am teaching...
